Ooey Gooey (Intermediate Level)

~A workshop that features all smooth and juicy combos and tribal fusion techniques. Ooey Gooey arm work, juicy layers and all kinds of beauty to add to your dance. The slowest part of tribal fusion can be the most visually appealing to the audience. This workshop is really meant to teach students to lengthen movements....to slow down and gain control to create a sublime gooey tribal fusion effect. Martina will provide a 10 minute warmup.
Skills + Drills = Tribal Fusion (Beginners/Intermediate Level)

~A beginners tribal fusion workshop that features an easy breakdown of the basics of tribal fusion. This easy to follow formula gets students dancing and creating their favorite tribal fusion movements quick and clean with good technique and style. Notes will be provided.
BOOM BOOM POW! (Intermediate/Advanced)
Saturday February 11th, 17:00-19:00, Floor Studio, Zvonimira Rogoza 5
~This tribal fusion workshop features technique and stylization on how to dance in an effective way to electronic music. Students will be taken though the paces of what to look for in good tribal fusion music, and how to convey your interpretation of electronic music to your audience. After a 10 minute warmup, Martina will move into the workshop portion which will include music samples and how to dance to these different music samples.
About Martina
~Martina started dancing at a young age. She trained in ballet, jazz, tap and modern. However, her journey in dance happened upon belly dance seven years ago and she quickly discovered she had found her passion. Martina has been fortunate to have had lovely teachers guide her. She has trained with Rachel Brice, Sharon Kihara, Kami Liddle, Mardi Love, Zoe Jakes, Heather Stants , Unmata, Samantha Hasthorpe, Carolena of Fat Chance Bellydance, Jillina, and her current teacher Suhaila Salimpour. She is proud to say she is level 2 certified in the Suhaila Salimpour format and will be working towards her level 3 certification in 2011.
In 2004 Martina became the founder and creative director Bellyfringe Bellydance. Bellyfringe Bellydance consists of quality classes, workshops, and live stage productions. She is also the director of tribal fusion troupes Turquoise and Ginger Blue. Ginger Blue has had the special opportunity and honor of performing at Tribal Fest 9 and 10. In 2010 year Ginger Blue made their European debut and performed at Tribal Umrah in Nimes, France. Other special performances include performing at the international festival Folklife in Seattle, USA.
Martina has taught a full and intensive schedule in Vancouver, Canada — teaching up to 20 packed classes a week. She also taught many workshops in the Vancouver area specializing in Tribal Fusion technique. Her fast paced skills are highly sought, with meticulous detail to technique and drilling. Not only is Martina a busy dancer, choreographer, and teacher; she is also a respected host, promoter, and sponsor. In 2005 she started presenting a yearly show featuring her students and guest performers called Midsummer Bellies. A fast favorite and popular show within Vancouver. By 2006 Martina began hosting big name performers like Ariellah, Kami Liddle, Samantha Emmanuel (Hasthorpe), Solace, and her mentor and teacher Suhaila Salimpour.
Martina currently resides in Ulm, Germany, teaching classes at the TanzOase studio and traveling often to share her skills all around Europe.

THE SHOW will take place in Kino Tuskanac Sunday February 12th at 19:00. We will release information about the performers very soon.
The price of the show will be 50 kunas in advance, 60 at the door.
